PROPERTY DESCRIPTION

This delightful, 3 bedroom villa is in a quiet and private location, a short walk from the village of Chateauneuf de Gadagne and 5 minutes in the car to Caumont.

It’s ideal for a family holiday or for friends sharing as it sleeps up to 6 people in 3 bedrooms. It is well furnished and comfortable and has all the modern day comforts, including air conditioning and an open fire.

There is a private swimming pool within the mature garden – offering privacy and shade. 

Set in the heart of the Luberon you won’t have far to travel to see all the wonderful towns and villages, local vineyards and to visit the bustling markets.

Please note: Changeover day is SUNDAY.

The Village: Chateauneuf de Gadagne sits approximately equal distance between Avignon and L’Isle sur la Sorgue and is only 5 minutes drive from Caumont sur Durance. You can walk to the village where you'll find a café/restaurant, boulangerie and general store.

The town of L'Isle sur la Sorgue, just 15 minutes away, is famous for it's numerous waterways and mills, for its many restaurants along the canal banks and above all for its antique shops. There are no fewer than 350 "Antiquaires", which makes it second only to Paris in the antiques trade.

Sports: If you're feeling sporty, the excellent 18 hole golf course at Chateaublanc is only 6 km away, plus there’s horse-riding, tennis, walking and cycling routes and fishing nearby.

Leisure: A 10 min drive brings you to the Regional park of the Luberon, welll known for it's natural beauty and the hilltop Medieval villages of Bonnieux, Gordes, Menerbes and Lacoste. You can easily visit Roussillon with it's stunning ocre scenery or Coustellet which hosts a traditional farmers market on a Sunday morning.

Not far away there's St Remy-de-Provence, famous for its Roman architecture, Les Baux with its ruined castle and unique rock formations or Avignon with the Palace of the Popes. Slightly further afield, but still within easy reach you'll find Marseille with its famous waterfront, the Amphitheatre at Nimes and the cultured avenues of Aix-en-Provence.

Markets: can be found at a host of local towns and villages; L’Isle sur la Sorgue on Sunday mornings famous for its antiques, Pernes les Fontaines on Saturdays and Carpentras on Fridays, to mention just a few.

Supermarket: You’ll find the nearest in Caumont, 2 km away.

Kitchen/dining: The kitchen is very well equipped with an oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, kettle, toaster, coffee machine and iron. There’s a table and chairs in the kitchen and a washing machine and tumble dryer in the garage.
 
Living Room: There’s a large, comfortable sofa and coffee table, TV and DVD player, open fire for cooler evening, A/C for warm days and patio doors leading out onto the terrace and garden.
 
Bedrooms: There are three, good sized bedrooms, one with a double bed and two with two single beds. All the bedrooms have good quality furniture and plenty of storage.

Bathroom: The family bathroom is spacious and bright with a large walk in shower. There’s a separate Toilet. .

Outside: The private, large and mature garden is a delight and the property isn’t overlooked. There are several spots in the garden to sit, relax and enjoy the Provencal climate. The main, shaded terrace has dining table and chairs for al fresco dining and of course there’s the BBQ…

Garage: There’s a private garage if you wish to park your car in a secure, shaded place.

Swimming pool: The pool is 7.5m x 3.5m x 1.2 m deep and is a great asset to the house. It is protected by a pool alarm.

Internet: There is WiFi at the Villa

Telephone: There is no telephone at the house.

Winter heating: This is included in the rental cost.

Gas, electric, & water: Are all included in the rental cost.

End-of-stay cleaning: Is included in the rental cost.
Bed & bathroom linen: Is included in the rental cost.

Baby Equipment: a cot and high chair are available  - please let us know in advance if you require these.

Taxe de Sejour: in France, it is necessary to pay a “Taxe de Séjour” at the end of your stay. It has been included here in the rental cost.

Damage deposit: The owner requests a damage deposit of 700 euros on arrival and this will be refunded to you at the end of your stay, less the replacement cost of any breakages.

Change over day: Sunday.

Long weekend stays: May be available, please enquire.

Pets: May be accepted, please enquire.

Smoking: is not permitted at the villa.

    We had a super holiday at the Villa St Lorraine. Chateauneuf de Gadagne is an excellent base for a sightseeing holiday with an amazing array of fascinating places within reasonable travelling distance. There is a railway station in the village which we also found useful on a couple of occasions. The house itself was ideally suited to our needs and the owners could not have been more helpful. It was very good for our French, which improved over the fortnight,and we enjoyed our conversations with them.

    Villa St Lorraine was perfect for our family. We have 2 small children so it was great to have the use of a cot, highchair and washing machine. The pool was wonderful and the house was very easy to live in.We had a wonderful holiday. Everything was well organised and made very easy.
